Press Release Body: Multi award-winning Wentworth Brewery is bucking the trend and is not affected by the current national slump in beer sales. Recent research shows that pub beer sales are at their lowest since the 1930s, but Wentworth is not to be counted among the doomed ale producers; the Yorkshire micro-brewery has increased beer sales year on year for the past five years and continues to go from strength to strength. The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) say total beer sales for 2007 are down 22% - some seven million pints a day fewer than their peak in 1979. Since then there has been a 49% drop in pub sales, which has been partly offset by an increase in purchases from shops. Wentworth Brewery boasts an impressive CV which is possibly the reason for its continuing success. The brewery has always enjoyed positive feedback from its customers, as many of its real ales are highly original and are well researched to cater for the tastes of the more discerning drinker.
Chris Tinker, Wentworth Brewery's sales manager, said: "We like to keep ahead of the game with new and exciting brews and offers. I think that by staying in the public eye at various festivals and responding very fast to what the market is telling us, we've managed to accumulate an excellent following of real ale fans across the country. People who drink this type of beer are very loyal to a good product and brand. Whilst the national pub picture looks gloomy, this is far from the case as far as Wentworth Brewery is concerned."
Among the brewery's success stories are an attractive 'Famous Four' pack of the brewery's most popular bottled beers; a new offer of creating your own branded beer; and the opportunity to buy a selection of cask ales for parties at home or at work . The brewery makes regular appearances at regional and national beer festivals where the public are able to sample new brews and old favourites like the legendary WOPPA and Bumble Beer.
Wentworth is also proud to have on board what it believes is the only true female Head Brewer in the country, (designated Head Brewer, as opposed to a female member of staff who brews), Michelle Bright, the personal creator of the award-winning Oatmeal Stout.
